April formed the Grunden Law Office in 2002 in order to provide a new brand of legal services to Northeastern Indiana. Raised in Leo, Indiana, April graduated from Leo High School in 1987. She received a bachlor's degree in Education from Indiana University in 1994, and a law degree from Valparaiso School of Law in 1997. April clerked for the Honorable Nancy Eshcoff Boyer and the Honorable Paul D. Mathias in Allen Superior Court following law school. After trying both the large and small firm experience, April set out to start a firm that would break the mold of cookie cutter hourly rate legal services.

Today, April focuses her practice on counseling and educating clients in the areas of business planning, estate planning, and estate administration ( probate ). She listens to clients and works with them to build plans that are designed for their goals and needs. April provides annual update letters and newsletters to keep our clients informed and help them make sense of the ever changing legal landscape. She enjoys building lasting relationships with our clients and their families as they travel through the journey of life. She is a trusted advisor and has served in leadership roles for the Allen County Bar Association, the Volunteer Lawyer Program of Northeast Indiana, various local youth sports organizations and also volunteers for the local Junior Achievement program.

April and her husband, Jody (a CPA and owner of Summit CPA Group), reside in their hometown of Leo and enjoy coaching and supporting a wide variety of sports and activities with their children, Tyler and Lexi, both students at Leo.
